Vivek-Uday Students' Welfare Society: A Documentary film

Vivek-Uday Students’ Welfare Society, a voluntary Students’ Welfare Organization, is situated at Belgharia in the Dist of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. This organization was started in the year 2001 by some ex-students of Ramakrishna Mission Calcutta Students' Home (Belgharia), to cohesively support underprivileged meritorious students, who faces difficulty in continuing their higher studies. Later on many other people from different places attached to this society. In 2004, we started by assisting one student. Vivek-Uday makes an honest effort to practice Swami Vivekananda's idea of "Man making education" . In 2006, Vivek-Uday rented a house and all the students were accommodated there. At present the society supports 12 boy students and 4 girl students(scholarship mode). So far total 35 students have successfully completed their graduation. It is more heartening since the students had joined Vivek-Uday from very remote part of West Bengal and many would have left studies after school had they not been helped while the very first students are employed as a teacher and also some of them engineer in the reputed companies and more than 6 ex-students of Vivek-Uday are doing PhD in different prestigious institutions (like IITs) and also in abroad.
